“WOW” – its nickname and exactly how I would describe this event. Whiskies of the World Atlanta was an exciting and lively experience!
With whiskies from across the globe, this annual event offered a unique opportunity to delve into the world of whiskey (literally) and experience the craftsmanship behind over 100 whiskey brands. Hundreds of connoisseurs gathered at Intercontinental Buckhead for sips, snacks, and a great time.
Engraved Glasses for VIPs
Ever heard of a nosing glass? I engraved them all night, but I didn't know why they had the specific shape.
These special glasses are used for tasking whiskies and various spirits. They have a small opening at the top which helps trap aromas and enhance the tasting experience.
The tasting glasses at Whiskies of the World Atlanta received an upgrade with hand engraving personalization. While two levels of tickets were available, VIP ticket holders received complimentary engraving on their glasses (with gold fill!) to add a personalized touch to their event experience.
Improved Guest Experience with Engraving
The engraving process itself drew curiosity from attendees. Some attendees were excited to see an engraving station, while others were new to the permanent personalization that hand engraving provides.
Watching their glasses being personalized on the spot was a fascinating experience for many. With names, initials, or the date, each glass was a tangible reminder of their event.

Planning for Live Event Engraving Success
Preparation for the event was key. I ensured my engraver was charged, cut strips for guests to write their names, and packed all necessary supplies in my rolling case the day before the event. As always, I used my favorite engraving supplies I've shared before.
Prior to the event, I shared my free Live Event Guide with the event planner, so we both knew what to expect throughout the planning process. Staying organized before and during the event allows for a smooth process for guests and myself as the artist.
Managing High Volume
This event was notably busier compared to others, with almost no downtime. Keeping my workspace organized was crucial as guests had the option to drop off their nosing glass and continue visiting other vendors while I engraved. Precut name strips were particularly useful, allowing me to match each glass with the correct name easily.
Engraving started early for VIP guests and continued throughout the night – I engraved nonstop for almost 4 hours! Purva from MagicaLettering worked with me at the event to help manage the large crowd. With a second engraver on site, we were able to engrave for VIP guests and deliver high quality results for Whiskies of the World attendees.
Trust me – lots of the general admission guests wished they had upgraded to the VIP ticket just for engraving. Hand engravers draw a crowd and this event was no exception.
Event volunteers and other vendors often stopped by to watch the engraving process, adding to the busy atmosphere. Their interest and curiosity reinforced the unique appeal of live engraving at trade shows and corporate events. Compared to other events, Whiskies of the World ATL stood out due to its sheer volume and continuous demand for personalized engraving.
